About the event
What is Dragonfly Nature Club?
Dragonfly Nature Club is a way to get kids Ages 5-11 in the greater Jacksonville area outside exploring nature. Each session is unique, drawing from the seasons, the surroundings, and the kids involved to create a memorable experience.
Daily Rhythm (Schedule)
Morning Circle Games & Welcome
Nature Knowledge - Full group session with a leader-guided activity
Bathroom Break
Free Choice - Explorers will be given an area of the woods to free explore, and will have choice of their activity. Each session will have a new invitation to the forest: an open ended activity that will challenge explorers in new and interesting ways. Examples: students may use nets to catch bugs, climb trees, build hideouts, or practice their skills
Closing Circle & Wrap Up - Explorers will get to decide how best to summarize their activities each session in their Nature Journals.

This is a drop off program. Parents/guardians are welcome to explore the park, run errands, or have some personal time during our session.
Drop-off: 10:00am
Pickup: 12:00pm

January 9 - April 30
There will be no Nature Club on February 13 or March 19.
Registration covers ALL sessions during the semester/quarter.
Single day drop-in sessions will be based on availibility.

1st child - $250
2nd child - $200
3rd child - $180

What to Wear
This event includes a hike, so wear shoes good for walking. Please check the weather before you leave as we will be outside in the elements for the duration of the program. This class is rain or shine, so bring an umbrella if its raining!
Code of Conduct
Campers and Students are expected to abide by the Code of Conduct. Jax Dragonfly Academy staff will create a fun and safe environment for participants in the program. Praise and positive reinforcement are used as effective methods of behavior management. Children who do not respond to these methods or who are destructive to others or to property will be dealt with in a professional, positive, and timely manner to correct the behavior. NOTE: Immediate dismissal from the program can occur at any time given severe circumstances. Refunds for missed days due to a discipline dismissal will not be granted.
Risk & Safety
All Dragonfly Academy sessions are led by experienced outdoor guides. We take safety seriously, and strive to create an environment where children are able to take calculated risks. By signing up for these outdoor programs, you understand that there is an inherent risk involved, including minor cuts and scrapes, insect bites, and weather. You also understand that Dragonfly Academy and it's staff are not liable for any injury sustained by students, and that students who choose not to follow safety protocol may be injured.

Policies & Cancellations
Jax Dragonfly Academy designs and implements programs based on enrollment. We invest in program planning, site licenses, equipment and other costs before the program begins. These expenses cannot be recovered in the event of a cancellation. When considering a cancellation, please be aware and respectful of our policies and commitment to facilitating quality programs.
Weather
Programs run rain or shine. We don’t provide refunds for days missed due to weather. All participants should come to programs with weather-appropriate clothing and related gear. In the event that extreme weather jeopardizes the health and safety of participants and staff, the Dragonfly Academy may choose to cancel or reschedule the session.
Extreme weather is defined as: high wind, freeze, tornado/hurricane, severe storm and excessive heat warnings; AND/OR two or more of the following: winds above 20mph, sustained rains (over 70% coverage), temps below 50F.
Park access
Jax Dragonfly Academy operates in public parks. In very rare circumstances where access to the park has been restricted without notice, programs may be canceled if an alternative location can not be secured. Credits will be issued.
Circumstances beyond our control
The Dragonfly Academy will determine whether a refund is warranted.
Other refunds and credits
We do not provide refunds or credits for missed days.
All cancellations must be requested in writing by emailing info@jaxdragonfly.org.
We reserve the right to cancel a program or change a program’s duration, price or location. You will be notified via email of any changes to programs you are registered for.
