About the event
Location:
Fort Family Park
8000 Baymeadows Rd E, Jacksonville, FL 32256, USA
10am - 11:30am
We will meet at the covered pavilion near the restrooms(subject to change).
This location has bathrooms and a playground area. Bring a picnic lunch for after the event!
What to Expect
Students will get to perform 3-4 hands-on chemistry experiments. We will learn chemical vs. physical reactions, what an acid and base are, how they interact, make some amazing mixtures, then end the class with a fizzy, bubbly, bang! This class will get messy, so come dressed for a mess.
How long will it take?
Plan for 90-100 minutes of bubbly fun.
Who Is This For?
This program is appropriate for kids ages 5+. We will be learning some chemistry basics about acids and bases, and kids will get to perform hands-on science experiments. Younger children ( ages 5-7), may need parental assistance with some activities during the program. Due to the nature of these experiments, we cannot accomodate participants under 5 (but younger siblings are welcome to watch).
What to Bring
Come dressed to get messy! We've got everything else covered. You may also want to bring a water bottle, and a picnic lunch if you plan on hanging out afterwards.
