FAQ

If your question is not below, feel free to email info@jaxdragonfly.org.

  • My child is under the age limit for a program. Can they still participate?
Our programs are designed to meet the abilities of the age range described for each program. There may be tasks and information that younger children may find difficult or developmentally inappropriate. We ask that you take this into consideration before signing up younger children, but they are always welcome to tag along just to watch if they are not participating. Please reach out in writing to info@jaxdragonfly.org if you are registering a child that is not within the age range listed for the program.
  • Can parents and younger siblings attend programs?
Yes! Parents are required to stay during the non-drop off programs and we understand that this means younger siblings may need to tag along. There is no charge for parents and siblings that are not participating in the program.
  • Where is Jax Dragonfly located?
We hold our classes and events at various public parks throughout Duval and St. John's County in Jacksonville, FL. Please see event details for specific information regarding location. We can also bring our programs to your location for a private event.
  • What is the dress code?
Children should dress appropriately for the activities scheduled. Jax Dragonfly Academy recommends some type of athletic shoe or sneaker in order to participate in recreational or athletic activities. Jax Dragonfly Academy recommends an umbrella or jacket for rainy days, as we will still be outside. Flip-flops, rubber “crocs”-style shoes, and other open-toed shoes are not recommended as acceptable attire for active recreation activities. Shirts should have a minimum of 1” wide shoulder straps. Clothing that displays drugs, alcohol, tobacco, offensive language, excessive bagginess, or is excessively revealing will not be permitted. If an event involves water or swimming, a modified dress code will be listed under the event details.
  • Do you offer discounts?
Equity Discount We want to acknowledge that not all members of society are afforded the same opportunities. In an effort to create greater equity we wish to extend a reduced program rate to individual children who are from marginalized or single parent families. In doing this we hope to promote equal opportunity and inclusion for all children who would benefit from outdoor education. Please make use of these checkout codes if you wish to access this program: MILITARY or EQUITY
